President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is currently presiding over the burial of national hero Chris Mushowe at the national shrine.
Mushowe passed on recently after a long illness and was declared national hero.
He is survived by wife Penelope Batsirai Mushohwe (nee Mutsago) and eight children namely; Prince Tafirenyika, Princess Margaret, Samara Promise Munyaradzi,TrevorItai, Prayer Nyasha, Tanyaradzwa Emily, Anesu Primrose and Sean Makomborero.
In 1981, Mushohwe was taken into the confidence of the then Prime Minister, our late Founding Father and former President, Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe, to serve a very demanding and sensitive position in his Principal Executive Office.
In 1986, Dr Mushohwe was made the Comptroller of the Prime Minister’s Residences, becoming Director State Residences in the Office of the President and Cabinet in 1988.
His humble demeanour and professionalism made him most suitable for the post.
