NashTV boss Tinashe Mutarisi was not impressed by Mai TT’s decision to hire bodyguards at the just-ended National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA).

Mai TT who was in the United Kingdom for the last few months flew in to grace the NAMA Awards ceremony which was held last Saturday.

Mai TT stole the show with an elegant look. She was wearing a dress from Tapfumaneyi while her hairstyle was done by Ketty Masomera whom she said gifted her the wig.

However, her overall look at the NAMA Awards was not the talking point.

The outspoken comedienne was mocked by Nash Paints entrepreneur Tuinashe Mutarisi for being over the top for appearing on the red carpet with bodyguards.

Mai TT took to the NAMA Awards red carpet with bodyguards from Sama Vip Protection in tow.

Mutarisi felt there was no need for her to attend the awards ceremony with bodyguards.

He added that Zimbabwe is a peaceful country and that its citizens are respectful.

“Nhai security for what mukanyika kedu kakana kudai, mari haimo hayo strereki stereki but hunhu hobho!,” Tinashe Mutarisi commented on a picture of Mai TT.

At the time of publishing, Mai TT had not responded to Mutarisi’s jibe. Her appearance at the NAMA awards with bodyguards seems to have been a brand ambassador deal as she took to her Facebook page to shout out Sama Vip Protection for providing security for her.

“Thank you Sama Vip Protection for escorting me to the Nama. Hanzi Mai Tt don’t worry we are going to Escort you you your Grand Entrance,” she wrote on her official Facebook page.

In response, Sama Vip Protection said:

It has always been a pleasure working with you Mura, from the begining when we opened our Zim branch you’ve always been supportive and we thank you for such love. We got your back all the way and always will. The relationship we have and the love is so mutual let’s keep the fire burning….
