Namibian President Hage Geingob has been diagnosed with cancerous cells following a medical examination of his colon and upper digestive tract, his office has announced.
He will continue with official duties while receiving treatment. His office says President Geingob believes in “transparency and accountability, including on matters pertaining to his health status”.
Namibia is scheduled for presidential and legislative elections at the end of 2024.
