NAFAZ ‘National Football Association of Zimbabwe’ already in trouble

The newly formed Zimbabwean football governing body  NAFAZ ‘National Football association of Zimbabwe’ is  already in serious problems following revelations that Philip Chiyangwa and his helpers did not follow proper procedure in the manner in which they closed the old ZIFA and formed NAFAZ.

On 21 April 2016, FIFA wrote an advisory letter providing guidance on steps that needed to be taken in order to dissolve ZIFA.

Despite FIFA pointing out the need to follow statutes, the Sport and Recreation Commission (SRC) noted with concern ZIFA’s failure to abide by its constitution and FIFA directives.

NAFAZ may be dissolved since Chiyangwa and his team  took shortcuts and did not follow their own constitution.

There is however slim hope that NAFAZ will survive and the small mistakes will be corrected or ignored all together.

In the next few days FIFA will look into the issue to determine whether there was a major or just a small technical breach.
