The love of money lended an Animal Health Officer in ‘deep soup’ when he is alleged to have stolen $4 000 from his office recently in Zaka.
Dennis Musona is believed to be on the run after an internal audit revealed that $4 000 was missing, Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr Ernest Dzimwashe confirmed.
Musona disappeared from his workplace as soon as the audit was carried and it was revealed that the accused misused the levies paid by farmers in Zaka district.
The accused has been using veterinary equipment to generate cash which he converted to his own use, instead of depositing it in the Veterinary Office account he used it for his own personal use.
Musona based at Kwawageza in ward two of Nyakunhu Zaka abused funds as part of his duties at work was to collect levies from communal farmers and dipping fees.
The matter was reported to the police and they have issued a warrant of arrest.
Musona is on the run and is now on the police wanted list.
