As the Joice Mujuru’s Zimbabwe People First falters amid desertions, she has expelled her top allies with immediate effect over alleged acts that seek to derail the party’s founding principles.
Mujuru in a statement in the possession of zwnews.com has announced the expulsion of the party’s top brass that include Rugare Gumbo, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, Didymus Mutasa, Margaret Dongo, Munacho Mutezo among other heavy weights in the party.
“As a party we have decided to take stern measures against elements determined to stall progress that the party has been making. As a result we have decided to eject some of the colleagues we thought would stand the people’s cause, but have chosen to be the agents of the regime we are fighting,” she says.
She accuses them of being used by the enemy to topple as well as plotting a coup against her.
“Having done extensive consultations within the ranks and file of the party and also in my capacity as the President of the party with the executive authority to ensure its wellbeing, I announce their expulsion with immediate effect,” says Mujuru.
She says more head are set to roll as her party engages in the exercise of rooting out bad elements in a process she terms ‘revolutionary cleansing exercise.’
Mujuru says this would however, not stall the coalition of progressive opposition forces to fight and remove ZANU PF from office.
