Mugabe, Alpha Omega Gushungo Dairy sued over $30 000 South African debt

Gushungo  Alpha Omega Dairy a family business ran by President Mugabe’s wife Dr Amai Grace Mugabe is being sued by a South African company, Blakey Investments, over a $38 000 debt for packaging sold on credit to the family business last year.

Early this month, Blakey filed its case at the High Court in Harare under case HC3813/16 seeking an order to compel Mugabe’s family business to pay the debt of $38 391,72.
The court case came after the Mugabes have been contacted several times and have promised to repay the outstanding debt

 

 

“The defendant has fully acknowledged its indebtedness to the plaintiff by way of its email of February 16 and promised to settle the account, but to date it has not paid anything towards amortisation of the debt,” the firm said.
