President Robert Mugabe has signed a new bill into law as Zimbabwe strives to shake off economic problems affecting day to day survival of businesses.
The new bill creates Special Economic Zones.
A special economic zone is an area in which Zimbabwe business and trade laws are tailor made to promote investment through the provision of incentives.
So far Harare, Bulawayo and Norton have special zones.
More zones will be opened in Gweru and Mutare as time goes on.
The ascent coincided with a special visit of Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission, Mr Fan Hengshan who called on Cde Mugabe at State House in Harare this Monday afternoon.
He was accompanied by a 20-member delegation comprising government officials and businessmen from Gansu Province from the aviation, highway construction, tourism, electricity and state companies management sectors.
Mr Hengshan said they are on a cooperation mission with the government of Zimbabwe in the area of special economic zones development.
Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding for the construction of Sunway City has been signed between the Zimbabwe and the Gansu Construction Group of China.
