Mnangagwa takes over as President Mugabe leaves

Emmerson Mnangagwa has taken over presidential duties as President Mugabe leaves the country.

Mugabe left Harare last night for New York where he will join other Heads of State for a climate change ceremony in New York, United States.

President Mugabe is accompanied by the Minister of Environment, Water and Climate Oppah Kashiri Muchinguri.

He was seen off at Harare International Airport by Vice Presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, Army Chiefs and senior Government officials.

For the first time Mugabe did not travel to New York with First Lady Grace who is in Singapore with daughter Bona who just gave birth to a baby boy who happened to be Mugabe’s first grandchild.
