Mugabe in parliament No-Show, 9AM too early for sleeping Bob

Former President Robert Mugabe was expected to give oral evidence before a parliamentary portfolio committee on $15 billion diamond theft at Chiadzwa.

Today the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy chaired by Norton MP Mr Temba Mliswa announced that Mugabe could not make it for the 9AM appointment as it was too early for him.

Instead his appearance has been rescheduled for Monday, 28th of May, at 2PM.

“In view of the time we have resolved that we will write to the former President, His Excellency cde RG Mugabe to appear before us on Monday at 2PM. We appreciate that when he was in office he started cabinet at 12 O’clock, so we are not here to humiliate him. We expect him to give enough time to prepare. If he does not cooperate, Parliament has powers to summon anyone,” said Mliswa.

In 2016 Ken Yamamoto revealed Mugabe’s crazy sleeping routine:

“Mugabe now works 30 minutes a day, often coming to his office around 3pm and leaving half an hour or so afterwards to go home and sleep,” said Yamamoto.

Yamamoto was among the first people to warn Mugabe of his imminent demise;

“He is finished. He will not be President of Zimbabwe by the end of 2017 at the very least. In fact, he will be lucky to remain President beyond December 2016,” wrote Yamamoto in August 2016. zwnews
