Mugabe has been silent on the flood disaster in Zimbabwe
President Robert Mugabe’s family has been exposed once again in the on going Dubai diamond ring scandal.
This comes at a time when thousands of families are in dire emergency as rising floods threaten lives and properties in Zimbabwe.
Nowhere to go, rising water in a family home, Zimbabwe
A Harare court was told that the family is paying about $500 000 per year to rent a mansion in Emirates Hills, Dubai.
A brief research on the area reveals that it is a secure and very expensive location favoured by celebrities and African politicians.
This comes in the midst of a contract dispute over the botched purchase of a US$1.35 million diamond ring by First Lady Grace Mugabe from Lebanese tycoon Jamal Ahmed.
Mugabe’s rentals in Dubai translate to $42 000 per month enough to buy two family houses in Zimbabwe’s high density suburbs monthly.
This information is in Jamal’s High Court affidavit filed through Beatrice Mtetwa in response to Grace’s invasion of his properties.
