Mugabe to celebrate 93rd birthday at ‘Gukurahundi site’

After spirited last ditch efforts by local elders and pressure groups to prevent presidential birthday bash in a community still grieving loved ones lost during Mugabe’s Gukurahundi killings, Matabeleland South province will this year host the 21^st February Movement with the Matopo National Park named as the venue for this year’s celebrations.

Preparations for this year celebrations have started in earnest following the first meeting that was held in Gwanda.
Addressing the joint Zanu PF provincial coordinating committee meeting and the provincial development committee meeting, Umzingwane National Assembly member  William Dewa revealed the province has been given the task to host the 21^st February Movement and intends to deliver a historic event.
He said Matopo district is the venue for the event and all sub-committees have since been activated to ensure that logistics are attended to.
Dewa said the exact venue at Matopo National Park is yet to be identified.
He further stated that Matabeleland South province will also host the Zanu PF National People’s Conference in December 2017.
