A Zimbabwe High Court has this Tuesday indefinitely reserved judgment on Marry Mubaiwa-Chiwenga’s bail application and appeal altogether.
This means Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s estranged wife will have to endure more days in prison .
Mubaiwa Chiwenga has been languishing at the female section of the notorious Chikurubi Maximum Prison ever since she was denied bail by the Magistrates’ Court two weeks ago. Her two subsequent bail application at the High Court were postponed.
High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda indefinitely reserved judgement on the matter. As it stands, the former model has no idea when, if at all, she will be granted her freedom so that she can attend her trial while coming from home. When she appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court yesterday for routine remand, Marry was further remanded to 14 January for trial.
Marry’s health reportedly took a turn for the worse last week the same day her husband General Chiwenga was airlifted to a Chinese hospital with President Mnangagwa announcing that the nation should pray for the ailing Vice President.
