The late Morgan Tsvangirai
The late founding MDC president, Morgan Tsvangirai’s son, Richard Tsvangirai, is reportedly eyeing the Norton Constituency seat, currently under the jurisdiction of motormouth independent politician, Temba Mliswa.
According to reports, Tsvangirai (pictured below) intends to challenge Mliswa in harmonised elections to be held next year.
The reports were also confirmed by the Children of Zimbabwe War Veterans Association (COZWA) on their Twitter handle.
While writing on Twitter, COZWA said:
“Norton MP Temba Mliswa @TembaMliswa under attack as MDC founding President Morgan Richard Tsvangirai’s son Richard Tsvangirai @RTsvangirayi eyes his seat”.
Formerly a Zanu PF member, Mliswa is very popular in his constituency and has continued to defy the myths and misperceptions about the electoral competitiveness of independent candidates by continuing to maintain his grip on the Norton parliamentary seat.
On the other hand, Tsvangirai’s son has failed to emulate his late father who was revered for founding the main opposition party during the dawn of the 21st century.
