MOREBLESSING ALI MURDER|| Tendai Chirau Fingers The Opposition

As the debate over the chilling murder of opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Moreblessing Ali continues to rage on, a high-ranking ruling party official has said it is the opposition which has a history of killing people in broad daylight.

In an apparent reference to Ali’s murder, trained journalist and Secretary for Security in the Politburo, Tendai Chirau has said characters in the opposition establishment have a ‘history of killing people in broad daylight’.

The former Zanu PF acting Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs fingered the late Learnmore Jongwe (above), a colleague of CCC President Nelson Chamisa, as an example of one murderer who was convicted for killing his own wife.

“Characters in the opposition have a history of killing people in broad day light. One of the characters is Learnmore Judah Jongwe Chamisa’s colleague who callously killed his wife. He was convicted for that crime. Let’s all fight against murder of any form,” said Chirau on Twitter.

Jongwe, a firebrand student activist who graduated into national politics at a young age, died on April 24, 2002, while in police cells.

He served as spokesman of Zimbabwe’s main opposition party and was found dead in his prison cell after being arrested a month earlier and charged for murdering his wife.

He died at the age of 28.

MDC suspected foul play.
