A Dynamos Football Club fan who was travelling to Shabani Mine around 1400 hrs on Wednesday to watch a match between his team and FC Platinum hit an unsuspecting pedestrian at Link Turn Off and left him for dead.
The pedestrian was thrown in the air from the impact and the driver of an Ipsum did not stop as required by the law.
The pedestrian who is a contractor in the Housing Developers(name withheld) is in a critical condition at Makarima Hospital.
A witness to the scene said some form of karma justice befell the fleeing driver when his car then lost control some 1km from the place were he had hit a person.
The Ipsum driver was injured and was then held hostage by an angry mob that had seen him trying to run away.
Police attended the scene and rescued the deMbare man from the baying mob that threatened to kill him.
According to reports, the area from Gara Lodge to Gwenoro turn has claimed many lives and is one of the most dangerous black spots in the district.
Local police refused to speak to the press when contacted to comment on the accident. zimnews
