Zambian political analyst Joseph Kalimbwe, a strong critic of President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has praised Zimbababwe over Mbudzi Interchange roundabout completion.

The Mbudzi Interchange roundabout which is set to be opened to motorists soon has been criticised as being inferior when compared to the millions of dollars pumped in.

However, Kalimbwe says the project is a milestone which should be replicated even in his homeland, Zambia.

“We must also put up such things in Lusaka. Simple road signs. I saw even Lilongwe has an intercharge.

“Congratulations Zimbabwe.

“We must put our resources into building the next wave of Zambian roads,” he said.

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube earlier on announced in a Government Gazette that government had signed a US$88 million loan deal with Obey Chimuka’s Fossil Mines (Pvt) Ltd to find the project at an interest rate of 5% per annum.

Fossil Mines is a sister company to Fossil Contracting – one of the firms involved in the road infrastructure project.
