Mnangagwa’s Davos trip was to broker a deal for Lafarge Cement takeover by Tagwirei, ex minister

In Davos: (Mnangagwa meets Lafarge Cement Chief John Stull)

Former Minister of Higher Education, Jonathan Moyo says President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Davos trip was for him to discuss Lafarge Cement takeover through his cronies, like Kuda Tagwirei.

“So Mnangagwa’s jaunt to the poorly attended Davos 2022 was to meet Lafarge-Holcim Cement’s John Stull to broker a deal for his Fossil Mines, fronted by his sidekick Kuda Tagwirei, to purchase a 76.45% stake in Lafarge Zimbabwe? If this is not abuse of office, nothing is,” he says.

Meanwhile, in Davos, President Mnangagwa had a meeting with Lafarge-Holcim Cement Corporate’s John Stull.

Lafarge has been operating in Zimbabwe for almost 60 years, supporting various sectors of the economy through infrastructure development and enhancing agricultural productivity.

Moyo adds:

“The capture of state assets and of private assets through the state is the bane of Mnangagwa’s regime.

And the asset capture list is long: command agriculture, CBZ, ZMDC mines, ZiscoSteel, Darwendale Platinum, artisanal gold mines and now Lafarge. Is this what ORL was for?”
