Mnangagwa gets green light to ‘overthrow’ Mugabe in 2017

As Zanu PF factions loose hope in Mugabe, Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been given a go ahead by his top lieutenant to ‘overthrow’ Mugabe’s government.

While making it clear that he wants the Midlands hard man as the next head of state, Energy Mutodi has called on the ruling party to hold extra-ordinary congress to install Emmerson Mnangagwa as  President Robert Mugabe’s successor.

Mutodi said that it was time that Mnangagwa took over from Mugabe, whom he described as old and ailing and added that he fully support war vets’s view that the 92-year-old is now a danger to the welfare and security of Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa’s allies, citing Mugabe’s advanced age, are now publicly declaring that the Zanu-PF strongman – in power for 36 years – will cede control to his deputy before 2017 is out.

“The year 2017 may see Mnangagwa being elevated to president and he is most likely to pick Constantino Guvheya Chiwenga [army commander] as his deputy and Kembo Mohadi [State Security minister] as second vice-president, while other security chiefs will be assigned to powerful ministries,” Energy Mutodi said.

Mnangagwa has been under fire following I am the boss statement that was interpreted by his opponents as suggesting that he has already endorsed himself as Mugabe’s successor.
