Mnangagwa attends Memorial Service for late ZNA Commander Chimonyo

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is attending the Memorial Service for the late Army Commander, Lt General Edzayi Chimonyo.

General Chimonyo was Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Republic of Tanzania until November 2017 when he was reassigned by President Mnangagwa.

He passed on in July 2021.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa also
wrote his message in the late General’s Memorial Book.

In the book he wrote that he first met General Chimonyo in Mozambique in 1977.

He wrote that Gen Chimonyo was a very humble commander who interacted with rank and file.
