Mental health patient kills father with a stone

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a murder case which occurred on 28/02/22 at Taruona Village, Bikita where a suspected mental patient, Austin Nhengo (36) fatally assaulted his Father Mutinini Nhengo (77) with a stone several times on the head.

According to police, the suspect followed the victim to a maize field and attacked him for an undisclosed reason.

Meanwhile, Police have arrested the suspect and recovered the stone which was used by the suspect in the commission of the offence.

In a related matter, police are appealing for information on a case of murder where an unknown suspect fatally assaulted John Bhonga (42) in a maize field in KMP Phase 2, Masvingo on 28/02/22 at about 0100 hours.

The victim was ferried to Masvingo hospital where he later died.
