MDC Alliance duo, ZINASU president back in court

Movement for Democratic Change-Alliance (MDC-Alliance) youth leaders Joanna Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Zimbabwe National Students Union president Takudzwa Ngadziore are appearing in court this morning for bail hearing.

The trio were recently denied bail by Harare Magistrate Vongai Guwuriro and made application to High Court.

This is after they were arrested and charged for allegedly convening or partaking in a meeting, an event which was prohibited during the national lockdown period of 2021.

The trio had to remain incarcerated at Harare Remand Prison after Justice Tawanda Chitapi stated that he needs to write the judgments over the past weekend and fully deliver the ruling today.
