Maud Muzenda, George Rutanhire, set for Heroes Acre burial this Saturday

Harare: Amai Maud Muzenda, who died on Tuesday at the Avenues Clinic in Harare, has been declared a national heroine. Defence Minister Dr Sydney Sekeramayi conveyed the message to the family and friends this morning.

Dr Sekeramayi said President Robert Mugabe, together with the Zanu-PF Politburo, had seen it befitting that Amai Muzenda be accorded the national heroine status, taking into account the critical roles she played during and after the liberation struggle

She will be buried at the National Heroes Acre on Saturday, at the same time with another national hero George Rutanhire who died on Saturday last week. herald
