Redcliff Zimbabwe

Scores of Redcliff residents who have gone for close to five months without receiving a water droplet on their taps have called for a massive demonstration on Monday, 17th April, to force the immediate resignation of the city’s Mayor Freddy Kapuya.
The Zanu PF aligned Mayor is also accused of drilling a borehole at his place where he is selling tapped water US $2 for 40 litres.
The city residents, who have formed a Whatsapp group named Kapuya must go on Monday, are coming out guns blazing attacking the Mayor for poor service delivery which includes failure to supply tap water for the past four months.
A disgruntled resident sent a message in the Whatsapp group which reads, “It’s now four months and he is failing to provide clean water in Redcliff and Rutendo and after all he set a borehole at his place where he is saying residents should come and buy water at his place.”
Another resident alleges that the mayor said, “Hamuchandidi l know kuti term of office yangu yapera.”
However, it is not crystal quite clear whether the demonstration has been cleared by the police and who are the organisers.
Efforts to get a comment from the Mayor were fruitless as his phone was not reachable.
