13 dead in Zimbabwe weekend road accidents; 6 Are Johane Masowe Church Members

Members of the Johane Masowe Apostolic church were involved in a deadly accident that killed 6 while 14 others were seriously injured.

The horror crash happened just few hours after 6 people lost their lives along the Bulawayo-Gweru road last week on Friday night.

Saturday’s accident occurred near Murewa along the Harare-Nyamapanda road.

Photos from the accident scene show the full carnage as goods and people were thrown out of moving vehicles to the side of the road.

According to a police statement,  a Toyota Hiace carrying 22 passenger veered off the road and overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

4 people died on the spot while 2 others passed away at a Murewa hospital.

The deceased’s bodies were taken to the same hospital for post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, a truck driver also died in Harare  on Saturday when his vehicle veered off the road and plunged into Mukuvisi river.

That brings the total number of recorded road accident deaths to 13 for just these past 2 days.
