Sons bludgeon father in cold blood

Two wicked brothers from Ngowiro Village in Shamva recently conspired to axe their father for refusing to surrender to them one of his oxen for sale.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Petros Masikati confirmed the murder.

Bashneck Nyapfere (39) and his younger brother Simbarashe (28) are alleged to have attacked their elderly father Dias Nyapfere (73) with an axe handle accusing him of refusing with his ox they wanted to sell.

Ass Insp Masikati said on May 2 this year at around 7 am the two approached their father at his homestead requesting him to allow them to sell one of his beasts since they were in dire need of cash, but the latter rejected.

This did not go well with the two brothers who then armed themselves with axe handles which they allegdy used to take turns in assaulting their father whilst their mother and other family memebrs watched from a distance.

The mother reported the matter at Madziwa Police Station, when the police details arrived at the scene, the old man had already died before the brothers were picked up for questioning.   

Ass Insp said the duo have been arrested and are expected to appear in court facing murder charges.
