All is not well in the mining town of Shurugwi where a man has been jailed 11 months for 4 criminal counts one of which involves the theft of four slices of bread.
Norman Shikisha (30) 0f S125 Railway block high density suburb appeared before Shurugwi resident Magistrate Mr Sangster Tavengwa facing 4 criminal counts which include unlawful entry×2, Domestic violence and theft.
It was in the states case as presented by Bertha Bore that, on the 30th of June at number S148, Railway block Norman Shikisha unlawfully entered Linda Chisara’s house by breaking a window and unlawfully took four slices of bread, 500mls of fizzy drink, a red torch and two cream curtains.
The curtains were however recovered leaving the value of stolen property at $3.
Passing his sentence, Magistrate Sangster Tavengwa slapped Shikisha with a 12 months prison sentence, of the 12 months one month was suspended on condition that the accused person pays $3 restitution for the four slices of bread, one red torch and 500mls of fizzy drink that were not recovered.
