Mashonaland Central Police Spokesperson Sergeant Stanford Muguni confirmed the death to the press.

Edmore Botomani allegedly met his fate on an unknown date, but in April last month whist fishing in the dam.

He was seen fishing whilst in the canoe by a fellow villager, Loice Chikumani (31) who was on her way to fetch some firewood.

Chikumani became suspicious upon her return when she passed through the same area, but could not locate the man, except the capsized canoe floating in the water.
