Man destroys house over missing trousers

Tinashe Zisengwe

After losing a pair of trousers to a suspected neighbour, a Marondera man allegedly destroyed his two roomed house as revenge for his missing property.

Prosecuting George Manhidza said that Ronald Munenga (25) of Rakata Village 1 in Marondera had a brawl with Olivier Hanyanga of the same village over the whereabouts of his trousers that were allegedly taken by her.

Ronald armed himself with rocks which he used to destroy a house belonging to a man named as Hanyanga, Oliveir’s brother.

Upon sensing danger Hanyanga bolted out of the window to rescue his sister in another room after realising that his house was almost collapsing.

The duo escaped and sought refuge at a neighbour’s place but Ronald continued hitting the house with stones until it collapsed.

A report was made to the police leading to the accused arrest.

Case continues.
