BACKGROUND: Man assaults brother with brick, knife for standing with his wife

Cases of relatives, or brothers dating another’s wife are becoming common in the country.

In days gone by, it was a taboo for one to date or have a love affair with his brother’s wife, however things seem to have changed.

Sometime in 2020, a man in Mtawatawa was killed by his brother for allegedly having an affair with his wife.

Most recently, the Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that the public should resolve their differences amicably without resorting to violence.

On 03 January 2022, a polygamous Mt Darwin man (49) was arrested for seriously injuring his brother (34) with a brick on the head and stabbing him with a knife once on the stomach.

The suspect alleged that the victim was having an extra marital affair with his wife after he saw the victim standing with his wife outside the yard.
