A man who inflicted serious head injuries to his wife resulting in her sudden death after failing to seek medical attention on time has been arrested.
Noel Mafios (28) of Pondosa Farm was arrested by the police for murdering Lisnet Marembela (25) his wife whom he beat up with an unknown object.
Mashonaland West Police Spokesperson Inspector Clemeance Magbweazara confirmed the incident to the press.
Insp Mabgweazara said, “ Mafios accused his wife of disrespecting his parents resulting in the two having an alteration which ended with a fight. Marembela was struck with an unknown object on the back of her head and she sustained a deep cut.
“Upon sensing danger Mafios managed to convince his wife to evade the law enforcement agents and not to inform anyone over the matter.
“The wife buried the story under the hatchet and failed to seek medical attention. Due to deteriorating health they decided to seek medical attention at a local hospital and she passed on before they arrived.
“The body was taken to mortuary for post mortem and police received a tip off that Marembela had died due to assault by his hubby. Investigations were made leading to Mafios arrest.”
