Madzibaba veShanduko challenges his placement on remand

Human rights lawyer Doug Coltart today continues making submissions that Madzibaba veShanduko was over detained beyond 48 hours before being taken to court & that his arrest & detention is illegal as he was severely tortured while in police custody.

Coltart from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights is also arguing that Madzibaba veShanduko mustn’t placed on remand.

He will also ask that he be set free on bail.

Magistrate Barbara Mateko is presiding over the proceedings.

Madzibaba veShanduko was arrested in Harare Central Business District on allegations of undermining police.
