The headmaster at St Columbus Primary School in Macheke has been dragged to court over allegations of swindling the institution over US $ 2000.
Prosecuting Courage Chakawa said Nicholas Kuodza who is an acting headmaster at the school used his position withdrew a total of US $ 18 590, 50 for the institution’s purposes.
The court also heard that out of the total amount only $ 15 737, 89 was used and another $ 2 852, 61 could not be accounted for.
Kuodza allegedly committed the offense between Januray 2013 to December last year.
The anomaly was unearthed following an audit at the school resulting in the arrest of the acting headmaster and subsequent court appearance.
The school was prejudiced of $ 2 852, 61 and nothing was recovered.
Magistrate Arnold Maburo who presiding over the matter deferred it to May 3 for trial and the accused is out on free bail.
