Livestock production training for Buhera communities

A TOTAL of 15 wards in Buhera District have received training on livestock production conducted by a local organisation as a way of capacitating them to carry out productive projects.

Buhera Farmers’ Association chairperson, Mr Eizekel Makoni commended the initiative by Kundayi Community Based Organisation in conjunction with World Vision, saying this is essential in equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to run their enterprises sustainably and profitably.

“Small-scale farmers in rural communities like ours require such trainings on improved animal rearing as we rely on livestock production to support our livelihoods. 15 wards are benefitting from this initiative by Kundayi with technical support from World Vision,” said Mr Makoni.

Livestock production is an essential component of world agriculture, contributing to food security, nutrition, poverty alleviation and economic growth.
