Mugabe to bury Muchemwa ‘Not Mumbengegwi’ at Heroes Acre on Sunday

President Mugabe will bury Retired Brigadier General Felix Muchemwa at the National Heroes Acre on Sunday 19th of June.

Muchemwa is lucky to be taken to the national shrine after fellow hero Samuel Mumbengegwi will get a village burial in his Chivi rural home in Masvingo on the same day.

Mumbengwgwi was a senior to Muchemwi in government as he held higher government posts serving as minister in different departments.

He also participated in the liberation struggle in the same way as Muchemwa.

Many will highlight his dismissal from government five years ago as a sign that he was no longer in good books with the party hierarchy.

At the time of his death Mumbengegwi was an ordinary university teacher who died in a local hospital suffering like the rest of the working class.

By contrast Muchemwa died in a well funded foreign hospital enjoying the privileges of Zimbabwe’s political elite
