SOUTH AFRICA: Zimbabwe face Lesotho in a repeat of last year’s COSAFA semi final set for today, Wednesday 6th of May at the new Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Indeed history repeats itself so goes the popular saying.
The Warriors will troop for their make-or-break tie with the Crocodiles of Lesotho bubbling with confidence after knocking Botswana 4-3 in the lottery.
Ironically, the match will be a repeat of last year’s COSAFA semi final in which the Warriors managed to ease past their opponents with a 4-3 scoreline despite the match being a tough contest.
Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa is not reading much into last year’s game since the Crocodiles can rise to the occasion and upset the COSAFA Cup defending champions seeking to assert themselves as a football powerhouse to reckon with in the region.
“We are planning for the match fully without undermining our opponents,” said Chidzambwa.
The winning team in this match will play the final on Saturday 9th with winner in the game between Zambia and Madagascar who are playing this afternoon.
Zimbabwe Starting Eleven
Coach Sunday Chidzambwa made two changes on the team that played on Sunday. Tafadzwa Kutinyu will start in captain Ovidy Karuru’s place while Terence Dzvukamanja replaces Talent Chawapiwa.
Warriors XI: G. Chigova, J. Mukombwe, A. Mudimu, K. Moyo, D. Lunga, M. Munetsi, T. Kutinyu, K. Billiat, A. Amidu, T. Dzvukamanja, E. Rusike.
