BREAKING: 6 Chimanimani pupils killed by lightning

The deadly Cyclone Idai that claimed hundreds of lives in Chimanimani and Chipinge last rainfall season is still haunting the areas as six pupils are feared dead after being struck by a bolt of lightning yesterday afternoon.

The tragic incident occurred around lunch time when the pupils were on their way from school, reports from the area suggest.

The pupils were reportedly taken to Mutambara Mission Hospital, but by end of day officials’ contacts were unreachable.

This comes as a heavy blow to local residents who lost family members, relatives and friends to the Cyclone Idai disaster.
