File: Mugabe flying in Air Zimbabwe
Yesterday Zimbabweans were up in arms following embarrassing revelations that President Mugabe has been forced to change his India trip upon realising he was the only head of state visiting a street carnival organised by a cultural group.

Now it seems the government was not truthful by misleading the whole nation about a trip to India that was never done.
Up to now the whereabouts of Mugabe and his delegation have not been clear with Prof Jonathan Moyo saying Mugabe never arrived in India.
It only emerged late yesterday that Robert Mugabe did not travel directly to India as announced by government, but had instead made his way to Singapore, which he frequents ostensibly for medical check ups.
Mugabe had reportedly left Zimbabwe for India on Monday evening to attend a low-key street circus, but questions began to emerge as he had left behind key government officials in tourism and cultural affairs.
Investigations yesterday showed that instead of going to India, Mugabe had taken a direct flight to Singapore aboard an Air Zimbabwe UM1 Boeing 767-2 NDER, registration Z-WPF.
According to flightradar24, an aircraft tracking site, Flight UM1, which Mugabe and his entourage were believed to be on, departed Harare International Airport at 16:37hours and arrived in Singapore at 02:28am.
At the moment it is not clear why Mugabe travelled to Singapore and why the government lied about the Indian trip.
