‘Mnangagwa death’ news circulate, is Zim VP dead or alive after poisoning?

Latest News on VP Emmerson Mnangagwa

Zimnewsnet has been getting a number of messages from concerned citizens for clarification over alleged CIO audios suggesting that Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has passed away.

The audio messages say that Mnangagwa who was airlifted to South Africa after vomiting blood at President Robert Mugabe’s youth interface rally in Gwanda on Saturday in a suspected food poisoning assassination ploy has died.

The audios sent to this publication  and other Zimbabwe news outlets seemed to suggest the death of the Midlands godfather in South Africa yesterday morning.

For professional reasons, we decided not to post the audios as we could not verify the authenticity of the sources and the content.

Yesterday, government officials including President Mugabe and Health minister David Parirenyatwa  indicated that the man affectionately known as the crocodile is alive and recovering.

Sources in South Africa also confirmed the above.

Speaking about the ‘Mnangagwa death audios’, a devout Team Lacoste member who refused to be named blamed leaders of rival G40 faction over what he called daylight witchcraft.

“We know he(Mnangagwa) is alive. These(audio sources) are G40 witches, they did it in daylight in front of cameras. We know them and they will not get away with it,” said a Mnangagwa supporter on condition that his name is not published.

Meanwhile, the government has launched a fully-fledged investigation to smoke out those behind the suspected poisoning of Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa was allegedly poisoned in Gwanda while attending a rally presided over by his boss, President Robert Mugabe.

His predicament comes at a time when his camp is mourning top ally, Shuvai Ben Mahofa, who died two years after allegedly swallowing poisoned food at a Zanu PF indaba in Victoria Falls.
