Mugabe gone by Tuesday next week: Zanu PF-MDC to FIRE president in Parliament

Impeachment Time: Zim Parliament to legally end Mugabe reign on Tuesday…

Leaders of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe’s party are making plans to force him from office if the 93-year-old leader resists pressure from the army to quit, a senior party source said on Friday.

The party officials indicated that the political process to remove President Robert Mugabe is underway.

“If he becomes stubborn, we will arrange for him to be fired on Sunday,” the source said. “When that is done, it’s impeachment on Tuesday.”

Zanu PF officials believe they will get 100% support from opposition MDC MPs to force Mugabe into ‘early’ retirement.

On national television, the military claims it was holding talks with Mugabe and the nation would be advised on their outcome as soon as possible.

The unfolding drama in the capital, Harare, was thrown into confusion when a smiling Mugabe was pictured shaking hands with Zimbabwe’s military chief, the man behind the coup, raising questions about whether or not the end of an era was near.

Mugabe unexpectedly drove on Thursday from his lavish ‘Blue Roof’ compound, where he had been confined, to State House, where official media pictured him meeting military boss Constantino Chiwenga and South African mediators.

Different reports reveal that Mugabe, who at 93 has appeared increasingly frail in public, is insisting he remains Zimbabwe’s only legitimate ruler and is refusing to quit. But pressure was mounting on the former guerrilla to accept offers of a graceful exit, political sources said.

Meanwhile a big march has been organised to send a clear message to Mugabe and his family that they are no longer wanted in Zimbabwe.

The organisers have indicated that they are in full support of the military and will not rest until Mugabe vacates power.
