27-05-16..12 PM report..12 People died on the spot and 3 more died at Chitungwiza hospital on Thursday 25 May when a Titan Haulage truck crashed into a Kombi along the Chitungwiza Hwedza Road near Dema close to Kandava secondary school.
The accident happened near Dema Police Sation last night.
A Titan Truck travelling from Hwedza with cotton bales had no proper headlights resulting in head-on collision with a commuter omnibus driving from the opposite direction.
According to a witness who spoke to zwnews.com, the truck driver could not see road ahead properly resulting in him switching lanes before the fatal crash.
Our reporters were told that the death toll could rise as 11 people are currently in critical condition while several injured people are recovering at Chitungwiza hospital near Harare Zimbabwe.
We are yet to get details of the Commuter Kombi company involved in the accident.
Zimbabwe Police spokesperson Charity Charamba confirmed the accident and advised motorists to take caution to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
