Kwekwe Is The Headquarters Of Violence- Nelson Chamisa

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) president Nelson Chamisa has called upon people from Kwekwe to desist from engaging in acts of political violence, saying the demon of violence is headquartered in the Midlands mining town.

In his address to scores of CCC supporters who converged at Amaveni stadium for the victory celebrations of Kwekwe Central Member of Parliament, Judith Tobaiwa, Chamisa said:

“The demon of violence is headquartered in Kwekwe. Please desist from this culture of violence. Sapota Zanu PF yako ichikupa madhaka, sapota CCC yako ichikupa huchi (Support your Zanu PF that gives you mud peacefully and support your CCC that gives you honey peacefully”.

Chamisa uttered his remarks before some suspected ruling party assailants reportedly attacked three CCC supporters who have since been hospitalised.

Party spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere confirmed the attacks on Twitter, saying:

Zanu PF thugs stormed our #KwekweRally today after President @nelsonchamisa’s address & violently attacked CCC supporters. 3 people were hospitalized. Zanu PF has turned to political violence as it fears CCC’s mass popular support as we approach 2023. The persecution must stop!”
