Knowledge Musona to miss Zimbabwe Senegal Afcon match

Zimbabwe warriors football team forward Knowledge Musona will not be available for the next Afcon match against Senegal on the 19th, the national team doctor has confirmed.

There are chances he may also miss the Tunisia encounter if his situation does not improve.

The Warriors are set to play  Senegal in the Total Afcon Group B encounter on Thursday night amid expectation that the team will get at least a point in order to guarantee progress to the next round.

Dr Munyonga said Musona sustained a mild right hamstring strain and indications are that there was no muscle tear.

“It is a grade one strain that we are going to treat according to standard hamstring strain injury treatment modalities,” Dr Munyonga said in a statement.

There had been fears a muscle tear would keep Musona out for the rest of the AFCON tournament but the Warriors medical team report has raised hope of a possible return by Musona before the end of the group stage.
