JUST IN: Soldiers, Police Declare War on Civilians in Bulawayo

Security forces in the second city of Bulawayo have literally declared war on civilians getting into the central business district, with only uniformed nurses being allowed entrance into the CBD.

Reports reaching Zwnews this morning indicate that only nurses, soldiers and police officers are being allowed to pass through the roadblocks leading into the city with civilians being forced to return back home.

It is also alleged that people who have been moving around the CBD and those in bank queues have also been chased away.

“ZUPCO drivers are also announcing at bus queues that state security personnel instructed them to carry Nurses, Police and Soldiers only.

They emphasised that other citizens will not be allowed in the CBD,” a source told this publication.

Efforts to get a comment from national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi to ascertain the reasons behind the actions of the security forces were fruitless during the time of writing.

This is a developing story. Zwnews will continue to update readers on the latest events as they unfold in Bulawayo.
