A Gokwe born serial competition winner who has been winning large sums of money since 2014 has denied that he uses juju or charms after he landed yet another lucrative and highly coveted prize.
Clifton Mandla, 38, of Mzari suburb in Chinhoyi, won big after being selected as one of only 2 Zimbabweans going on an all-expenses trip to Qatar to watch the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Mandla, together with Tafadzwa Manyonda of Chitungwiza, won the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch the World Cup live after winning the competition run by Cookmore and Raha Cooking Oil.
Mandla has since been nicknamed “Juju Man” for his prowess in winning competitions since 2014.
However, despite his fantastic record, the Chinhoyi man denied using Juju or Charms. The 38-year-old insisted that he is just lucky.
Speaking to New Zimbabwe ahead of his trip to Qatar, Clifton Mandla said,
“I am so delighted to be flying all the way to Qatar. This will be a memorable trip, which l am unfortunately going on my own.”
The serial competition winner added,
“I am just lucky and have become so popular for winning prizes almost every year since 2014. Some people have labelled me ‘juju man’ for having won so many times; actually, l have lost count of what l have won.”
Mandla, who comes from the Simbe area, Gokwe South, under Chief Njelele, revealed that he bought a stand and is building a house using proceeds from the numerous competitions he has won.
He works as a taxi driver and bought his vehicle using proceeds from the competitions.
