Unbelievable! Crises after driver drains 500 L diesel, replaces it with cooking oil

A notorious truck driver recently drained 500 litres of diesel and replaced it with cooking oil which later caused mechanical problem to the truck.

Prosecuting Fletcher Karombe told the court that Victor Mushonga(35) a driver with Road Motor Services on his way from Harare to Beira, Mozambique, stole from his employer 500 litres of diesel.

After draining the diesel he added 50 litres of cooking oil in the diesel tank.

The truck then had a major mechanical problem which the driver reported to the company.

A mechanic drained the fuel and a sample of was taken to diesel specialist who discovered that oil was mixed with cooking oil.

The matter was reported to the police leading to Mushonga’s arrest.

Local Magistrate Nyasha Kuture slapped him with a 13 month jail term of which five months were wholly suspended on condition that he restitutes his employer 500 litres of diesel.

The remaining eighty months were suspended on condition that he pays $ 5 690 on damages caused on the truck.
