In a very tragic incident that has left family members and the community in shock, an eight-year-old boy has died after a crocodile attack on the Hunyani river in Mushumbi, Mashonaland Central, Zimbabwe.
According to sources, the incident happened on Monday and the crocodile was hunted and killed by local villagers on Tuesday.
After shooting it, they proceeded to cut open the beast. The remains of the boy whose identity has not been given were found in the crocodile’s stomach.
An eye witness revealed to Bulawayo News that the young boy’s remains were buried today, Wednesday.
Crocodile attacks are very common in Zimbabwe and every year there are injuries and deaths reported to authorities.
Zimbabwe is currently experiencing heavy flooding which could draw the feared water beasts closer to people.
