If Mnangagwa gets SADC chairmanship those who snubbed his inauguration would have sold out, implies Mzembi

Former Zimbabwean Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi says if President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa lands the Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairmanship it is going to be a huge legitimacy seal for his government.

He adds that even those leaders who snubbed his inauguration would be players in legitimasing his disputed election.

“SADC Summit & assumption of Chairmanship by @edmnangagwa is a huge legitimacy seal for Zimbabwean government.

“Even those Presidents who snubbed his Inauguration for one reason/ excuse or the other will be part of this seal.

He also called for the reformation of SADC so that it captures the concerns of the masses.

He said for now SADC is a member State intergovernmental regional organisation very remotely connected to civil society aspirations.

“Seek yea first the Reform of SADC and your voice will be added onto its business and agenda.

“For now it is what it is a Member State intergovernmental regional organisation very remotely connected to civil society aspirations,” he says.
