Harare: Presidential Spokesperson  and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, George Charamba has lost his wife, Mrs Idaishe Olivia Charamba today at West End Hospital.

Mourners are gathered at no 2 Helsdon Road Alexander Park.

Mrs Charamba has been very unwell for a very long time.

In 2007, Charamba was accused of beating and nearly killing his senior wife Rudo Grace who was ill at the time.

It was reported that he assaulted his wife at their Mandara home after a gun dispute.

Sources said Charamba attacked his ailing wife who had just been released from hospital at the time, angering family members and government officials.
