Former Zimbabwe umpire Ian Robinson has died of lung cancer at the age of 69, at his home in Harare today, Sunday.
Born Ian David Robinson in Oxford England, 1947, he later moved to Zimbabwe where he worked as a cricket umpire.
Robinson officiated in 28 Test Matches and 90 One Day Internationals after making his umpiring debut in Zimbabwe’s inaugural Test against India at Harare in 1992.
Robinson is fondly remembered as a kind and very knowledgeable person who helped a lot in cricket matters and will be sadly missed by many people in and outside the cricket community.
